B03X available to order in Europe from July

The new B03X caught my attention because it seems to slot right into the segment where, today, compact electric alternatives at an affordable price are missing.

According to reports, European orders started at the beginning of July through the Leapmotor network, with a price tag of €24,900. In China, the same project is tied to the A10, but for Europe it wouldn’t be a straightforward copy: the European version is said to feature different mechanical tuning.

The most interesting figures, sticking to what has been declared, are:

  • 4.27 metres in length, so compact crossover dimensions
  • 145 kW front motor, around 195 bhp
  • 0–62 mph in 8.6 seconds
  • top speed 160 km/h (around 100 mph)

In my view, the point isn’t to make it a sporty car, but to have enough shove for ring roads, overtaking and motorway driving without feeling short on grunt. As for the specific EU-spec kit, infotainment and driver assistance, I’d still wait for the official UK spec sheets, because between Chinese and European versions quite a few things often change.
