Automatic braking without adaptive cruise active

I’ve got a doubt about the driver assistance: if I don’t activate adaptive cruise control, can the car still brake by itself in case of danger?

I’ve always thought that adaptive cruise control only serves to maintain speed and distance when I set it, whereas automatic emergency braking should be a separate system, linked to the ADAS rather than to cruise control itself.

Still, I don’t want to take anything for granted, especially because the equipment can vary between models and EU versions. In my view, the right thing to check is whether the setting for automatic emergency braking or anti-collision is switched on, and then to verify it in your own model’s handbook.

Has anyone already got this properly sorted on their Leapmotor?

I have the same doubt,

in fact it works for me with AEB and FCM active, but when I’m driving “normally” I have never felt the car brake for me, for example when approaching another car ahead of me at traffic lights.

So I can’t figure out if the emergency braking is actually always active and works in every case.
