I’m getting a clearer picture of the new Leapmotor B05, because some interesting details for our market have finally come out.
From what has been announced for Italy, the B05 enters the compact electric saloon segment and focuses heavily on design and driving feel. The figure that struck me most is the width of 1.88 metres, which should give it a real presence on the road.
The main points I’ve jotted down:
- 218 bhp motor
- two batteries, 56 and 67 kWh
- claimed WLTP range of over 480 km with the larger battery
- 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds
- chassis developed also with work done at Balocco on suspension, steering and tuning
The price positioning is interesting too: there’s talk of a promotional price from €22,900 up to €26,900 for the top-spec version with the 67 kWh battery and Design trim. At this point I’m keen to find out what the infotainment system will be like on the European version and how complete the actual equipment list will be at the dealership.
