The more I look at the C10 REEV, the more a simple doubt comes to mind: is the range extender really there to change the experience on long journeys, or mainly to take the anxiety away from those who don’t yet trust a pure BEV?
On paper, the idea is interesting: electric use for most trips, but without that feeling of rigid planning when you’ve got a long transfer, a full motorway, or a charging stop that falls through. However, the real difference comes from how all this translates into everyday driving: smoothness, the noise of the combustion engine when it kicks in, the feeling of a compromise versus a well-integrated system.
In my view, this is one of the most interesting points to discuss about the C10 REEV, also because it could be the model that convinces those who are interested in the C10 today but don’t yet feel ready to go straight to the fully electric version. I’d like to understand whether, for you, it’s a concrete advantage or mainly a psychological one.
