I found myself doing a very everyday test with the B10: battery at 41%, a shop to do and a simple idea — plug it into the supermarket’s charging point rather than going out of my way to charge it.
First stop, no luck: the charging point was out of order. It’s something that, sadly, still happens far too often — broken screens, missing cables or units unavailable. In the end I moved on to another supermarket with a 300 kW charger and everything went smoothly there.
In about 20 minutes of shopping, the battery went up to roughly 81–83%, with indicated range of about 350–360 km. The power at the end of the session was still around 43–44 kW, so not bad considering this wasn’t a lab test but a real-life situation.
The thing I take away from this is this: yes, charging takes longer than filling up, but if you slot it in while you’re doing something else, it feels a lot lighter. The real weak point remains the reliability of public chargers.
