Red light on the dashboard and ADAS warning: the solution could be a film!

Hello everyone,

I’ve noticed that several users have recently reported unusual behaviour as soon as they get into the car: the illumination of a red warning light on the small display (in front of the steering wheel, on the left side) sometimes accompanied by malfunction warnings for ADAS or driver monitoring.

Analysing the experiences gathered in the Telegram group, it seems the problem is very often caused by a simple protective film left on the internal camera (the one dedicated to face/attention detection).

The Problem

The camera cannot “see” the driver’s face well due to the film or fingerprints on it, and the system interprets this as an anomaly, temporarily deactivating some assistance systems or displaying the error warning.

The Solution

Check if the transparent factory film is still present on the internal camera (usually located on the steering column or above the dashboard).

:white_check_mark: Remove it.

Some users have confirmed that, after removing the film (which may have become opaque or dirty), the red warning light stopped illuminating and the warnings disappeared.

Let us know if you’ve also resolved it this way!
