I had the same question about the B10, especially coming from a way of driving where you meter the movement on inclines very carefully. I wanted to understand whether, both with one-pedal and in normal driving, the car stays still or tends to roll backwards.
In my case the cause wasn’t a fault: it’s actually the intended behaviour of the car. When I stop, even on a slope, the car stays put and doesn’t move off again until I press the accelerator.
What helped me was thinking of the accelerator pedal, especially in one-pedal mode, as a speed regulator rather than a traditional accelerator. Basically:
- I stop normally on a hill;
- the car stays put on its own;
- when I want to move off again, I press the accelerator gently;
- the brake releases and the car moves off.
From what I’ve checked, when you stop, an automatic hold engages — a sort of parking brake — which disengages when you accelerate.
Important note: during very slow manoeuvres, for example edging gently into a garage or coming out of a tight space, one-pedal mode can feel a bit jerky. You can get a slight juddering effect, as if it’s constantly stopping and setting off again. I haven’t been able to find a specific setting to get rid of this behaviour completely.
