Let’s revisit the issue of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) lock post-update, as we may have found a cause (and a prevention).
Analyzing the cases that occurred within the group, it seems the lock happens when the update is initiated with the car in a simple “ignition on” state but not “ready to drive.”
Advice for future updates:
Before pressing “Install,” ensure the car is in the READY state (the green writing on the dashboard). Some users confirm that doing this allows the procedure to complete successfully without locking the brake module.
If you are already locked out… the only official solution at the moment appears to be a tow truck or a reset by disconnecting the battery (which, however, doesn’t always work).
