On my Leapmotor B10 I’ve reached about 11,000 km and I’ve been wondering whether to do the tyre rotation straight away, especially side-to-side, or wait until the service.
I haven’t been able to identify a precise reason or a definite rule: the main point seems to be the type of rotation. Swapping the tyres from one side to the other only really makes sense if they’re taken off the rim, so as to keep the same direction of travel. Otherwise the benefit isn’t clear.
In the end I didn’t do the side swap straight away. I decided to check the actual tread wear and the pressure first, then see what the tyre fitter thinks. If the wear is even, I reckon it makes more sense to wait until the 20,000 km service and ask for a full check at the garage.
For now my conclusion is: I think it mainly depends on visible wear and the pressure you run. If the tyres are wearing evenly, I can’t see a clear advantage in doing a side-to-side rotation at 11,000 km. Has anyone with a B10 covered more miles and can confirm?
